Aliyah is the Founding Director of Pupil Power, a student-led movement aiming to educate and engage young people on educational policy. Since starting the initiative at 16, her work has been awarded and recognised for advising global leaders/organisations on how to embed a genuine culture for youth voice. In this role she organised and led her team to take bold actions. This included launching a legal challenge against government breaches of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, article 12, in 2020, submitting evidence to the House of Lords’ Education Select Committee on exclusions. Aliyah led global partnerships and built a bridge between young people and policymakers to create change.

As an associate consulate for Big Change, a charity which backs early-stage projects supporting young people, she successfully managed a £1 million prize fund, and launched a global campaign in the United Nations’ New York HQ to spark conversations about education.

In addition, Aliyah, whose work has been recognised through her nominations for the Telegraph and ITV’s National Diversity Awards as ‘Entrepreneur of Excellence’, serves as the youngest board member for Lyfta Education, an immersive 360-degree learning platform and is a fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar.

In October 2022, she was invited to climb Mount Kenya with Richard Branson and other global leaders, as a keynote speaker, with the aim of raising money and the profile of her work.
