Adjoa Andoh stands tall among Britain's prominent actors, earning global recognition for her stellar portrayal of Lady Danbury in the widely acclaimed Netflix series, Bridgerton. This role not only catapulted her to fame but also secured her a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress at the 2021 NAACP Image Awards.


Her illustrious career spans celebrated performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. Noteworthy among these are her compelling portrayals of Condoleezza Rice in Stuff Happens and Serafina Pekkala in His Dark Materials. In a ground-breaking move, Adjoa conceived, co-directed, and took on the role of Richard II at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 2019, marking the UK's first all-women-of-colour production.

A veteran BBC radio actor with a rich history spanning over three decades, Adjoa is also an award-winning narrator, lending her voice to over 150 audiobooks. As an Associate Artist at the Royal Shakespeare Company and Senior Associate Artist at The Bush Theatre, she continues to make significant contributions to the world of theatre. Recently, she assumed the prestigious role of the Cameron Mackintosh Visiting Professor of Contemporary Theatre at St Catherine's College in the University of Oxford.
